On the Razzle to run December 10-15, 2019
Stockbridge, MA – December 9, 2019: Each fall, Riggs Theatre 37 stages a production in the intimate Riggs Theatre located at 37 Main Street in Stockbridge on the second floor. This year’s production, On the Razzle, written by Tom Stoppard and directed by Kevin G. Coleman, will be performed nightly at 7:30 p.m. from Tuesday, December 10 through Sunday, December 15.
On the Razzle is an adaptation of the Viennese play Einen Jux will er sich machen by Johann Nestroy and has graced stages around the globe from London to Los Angeles. A fast-paced farce, the play features “slapstick shenanigans, mistaken identities, misdirected orders,” and much more.
Kevin G. Coleman, the Riggs theatre director, who also serves as the education director at Shakespeare & Company, remarks, “It’s a funny play, a seminal adventure and full production with impossible set changes featuring a dedicated cast of talented actors who are excited to perform this piece for an audience.”
Part of the Activities Program, Riggs Theatre 37 provides an opportunity for patients to explore some of their strengths through involvement in twice-yearly productions (spring and fall). The immersive ten-week process includes reading scripts, selecting a play, working through rehearsals, and staging several performances for the general public.
The production is open to the public and runs Tuesday, December 10 through Sunday, December 15 with nightly performances at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for the general public, $10 for students and seniors. To reserve tickets, call 413.298.5519 ext. 5606.
